This book was so Emily Henry core.
I started reading it when my friends were leaving for their studies abroad. Our friend group was saying its goodbyes to each other, all of us fully aware that we would see each other all together only by July of 2025.
That's why the book got its hit on me. There, a friend group of 6 was meeting a couple of times a year in Maine. There were certain issues (no spoilers) that had the potential of breaking the bond up. The thought of losing the bond with your close ones was terrifying. I felt Sabrina's and Harriett's premonitions in my bones.
Although the book was truly beautiful in certain parts, I don't think it was a 5-star read. I would have given it 3 stars had it not made me emotional in certain chapters. The writing was also not the greatest. There was an excessive amount of mentions of "Murder, She Wrote" (12, if one was counting). Thus, some polishing would be nice.
I liked Wyn (the MMC). I'm usually not into reading about insecure men (no offense), but I liked his portrayal. I liked how the author showed that all of us have things we are good at that we enjoy. Instead of following the roadmap drawn by those who came before you, it's better to create something on your own. Something personalized that will bring you joy. I found the lessons taught by Wyn and Harriett's mistakes useful.
Overall, the book is a good easy summer read.
