I had so many theories, but none of them were even remotely correct. The truth is crazier than what we would assume.
Alicia Berrenson has been set into a psychiatric unit 6 years ago after being arrested for killing her husband. She has not spoken for the 6 years following the murder.
The story is narrated by Theo Faber, a psychotherapist who joins the unit and sets to treating Alicia, the patient who is deemed as a lost cause by all the other members of the staff.
I enjoyed how Theo explored the case beyond Alicia's "mental state." There is so much to be said about it, but I do not want to make any spoilers.
This was my first time reading a psychological thriller, and I had a great time reading it! Alex Michaelides did a wonderful job!
